TRASFOR SA at EXPO Ferroviaria 2012, Italy
Now a major event in the rail industry’s calendar, EXPO Ferroviaria provides a unique marketing opportunity for suppliers to Italy’s rail network – one of the largest and busiest in Europe.
The fifth edition of EXPO Ferroviaria will be staged at the Lingotto Exhibition Centre in Turin, Italy, from 27 - 29 March 2012.
Returning at EXPO Ferroviaria will be the On-Track Display, a feature that has proved highly popular with both exhibitors and visitors. Five sections of track are again to be laid in Hall 2 to provide an authentic display setting for rail-mounted vehicles and machinery.
Further adding to the appeal of the two shows for visitors will be an extensive programme of conferences and seminars, providing valuable insights into the latest technological developments and trends. Some of these will be staged in collaboration with key industry bodies.
The railway in Italy continues to benefit from long-term large-scale investment to add capacity and enhance performance in response to growing traffic demands. As well as further additions to high-speed/high-capacity (AV/AC) network, major projects planned include the €6.1 billion Messina Straits Bridge, extensive upgrading of railways in Sicily and improvements to the Rome suburban system.
Rail market opportunities are further boosted by a buoyant urban sector. Here, 17 cities are either expanding or building metro or light rail systems in a bid to cut road traffic congestion and as a response to growing environmental concerns.
